Field Manager- Baidoa

To assume responsibility for the overall management of the Bay and Bakool field office.

This includes overseeing programme activities, including delegated grant management and reporting support functions such as finance, administration, HR, logistics and security, all field staff, security policy, and managerial representation of Save the Children.

Your management of an effective, productive, and safe field office in Baidoa will play a key role in the expansion of Save the Children programmes in South West Region-Somalia to increase impact and enable positive change for children.

In order to be successful you will bring/have:
* Minimum 5years practical experience managing a large programme in a complex emergency context, with a particular focus on [health, nutrition, livelihoods/food security, child protection, education], in large international non-governmental organization or other international relief/development body;
* University degree in a relevant academic discipline;
* Experience of managing the programme cycle, including assessments, project design, proposal and report writing, implementation, monitoring and evaluation;
* Excellent planning, coordination, and reporting skills, with the ability to organize a substantial workload comprised of complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities; hand-on experience of working with a local partner.
* Highly developed research, analytical, monitoring and evaluation, and report-writing abilities;
* Sound financial management skills, particularly in budgeting and reporting;
* Practical knowledge of current thematic issues and debates in developing countries, and of the major institutional donors such as DFID, ECHO;
* Computer literacy, particularly in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
* Strong communication, people management and interpersonal skills in English, with experience in leading multicultural, multi-location, values driven teams;
* Willingness to work and travel in often difficult and insecure environments;
* Experience of solving complex issues through analysis, definition of a clear way forward and ensuring buy in.
* Ability to present complex information in a succinct and compelling manner
* Ability and willingness to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge teams, in the event of emergencies
