Management:
• Responsible for managing day to day activities of Continuous Professional Development of teachers in close engagement with TTI.

Planning and Implementation:
• Work as key resource person in different CPD events and training (TOTs of coaches, face to face training of teachers, cluster based meetings and follow up etc.);
• Regularly review, update and share the CDP Work plan;
• Introduction of the approach and the coaches’ role to the relevant DEO and REO and what is expected regarding collaboration, Initial action planning;
• Introductory and follow-up meetings with school management at each school – with the Head Teacher and CEC. Action planning around expectations, collaboration and tentative work plans;
• Introductory meetings with target teachers at each school – approach, expectations and initial Work plan;
• Undertaking school visits with coaches as and when required with a clear plan to cover all the teachers undergoing CPD within the first year;
• Co-facilitate the monthly hub meetings – these are crucial in the development of reflective practitioners and will be essential in maintaining a high level of quality programming;
• Facilitating/ encouraging the development of digital peer support networks between coaches
– this could be via social media channels such as WhatsApp;
• Responding to skills gaps and/or training needs on an ad-hoc basis through the delivery of
additional TOT-level training – this could be on an individual coach or regional/ cluster
coach level;
• Constructive personnel management – coaches have a lot of autonomy, but it is crucial that
as a KRP, s/he is able to hold coaches to account and intervene if there are any issues, such
as underperformance;
• Provide mentoring support to the coaches;
• Reviewing and providing constructive written feedback to coaches' monthly reports and
work plans;
• Ensure that all relevant documents/reports for individual teachers learning performance
tracking is in place;

Coordination:
• Keep close coordination with TTI for implementation of CPD activities:
• Ensure that relevant Ministry of Education staff are well aware of CPD work plan
implementation;
• Develop, maintain and improve mutual and beneficial relationships with key stakeholders and
provide capacity building through advocacy (including government officials, school teachers
and community leaders) to ensure successful implementation of the project;
• Collaborate with counterparts with other partners in Somaliland and Central/ Southern States
(CPD officers, KRPs) to ensure reflection and learning between regions occurs regularly.

Monitoring:
• Ensure close coordination with M&E Officers for feedback to enhance the quality aspects of
the CPD Program;
• Working with M&E department on facilitating with FGDs, KIIs, and literacy and numeracy
assessments and uploading data online;
• Spend 70% of time in the field to follow up and monitor the CPD implementation and
adjustment of school-based & community-based interventions of EGEP-T & produce field visit
reports on regular basis and on an ad-hoc basis as requested.

Reporting:
• Prepare and share timely and accurate progressive reports periodically against the work-plan
to National Project Manager;
• Quarterly meetings at a zonal level between KRPs, DEOs and REOs and produce reports;
• Quarterly reports to the Technical Steering Committee outlining activities completed,
successes, challenges and work plans for the next quarter;

Child Protection:
• Ensure that coaches sign, understand and comply with child protection policy of CISP in
schools;
• Keep coordination with MoE Gender focal points for developing a link between coaches &
regional coordinators of MoE GFP’s to ensure child protection in schools.

Compliance:
• Ensure implementation of CPD program conforms with both CISP and donor requirements
and procedures;

Working with Others:
• Ensure effective, streamlined communication between education programme and operations,
finance and other department staff
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements
• Graduate Degree in Education;
• Demonstrated 2 years’ experience of managing education project & a minimum of 1 year
experience of teaching in both Primary and high school or 1 year experience of teachers’
training as resource person. Experience in curriculum development/delivery is highly
desirable;
• Experience in coaching and mentoring to teachers is also desirable.
• Experience in lecturing or tutoring an institution of higher learning will be an asset.
• Experience of implementing best practices;
• Good understanding of education concepts and issues in development context;
• Strong interpersonal & team building skills and excellence as a team player;
• Fluency in written and spoken English;
• Ability to develop and maintain productive, effective working relationships with
stakeholders;
• Advanced organizational skills including the ability to manage numerous tasks concurrently,
use initiative, establish priorities and work to tight or competing deadlines;
• In hand experience of using Microsoft office (MS word, MS excel, PowerPoint etc.);
• Experience in staff management will be an added advantage;
