About the Job

The Warehouse Supervisor is in charge of goods storage and dispatch and general Warehouse operations.

He/she oversees operations in multiple Warehouses in Mogadishu, Somalia whilst ensuring adherence to the internal/global warehouse standards and proper documentation.

This is a grade B2, National/Resident position based in Mogadishu, Somalia.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitors inventory and re order levels in the Relief, Admin, Medical and Dispatch warehouses
  • Ensures quality control of goods received and stored in the warehouses
  • Ensures Warehouse safety and preventive measures are put in place and executed
  • Ensures proper registration and treatment of goods as per their custom status, expiry date, serial number and manufacturer specifications
  • Defines proper order preparation and planning in liaison with the team in supply chain department
  • Ensures timely, efficient and reliable order processing and documentation
  • Ensures receipt and proper treatment of cargo manifest, related documentation, permits and licences at the dispatch warehouse and for export
  • Supervises all warehousing staff and monitors their performance and development
  • In liaison with the reporting unit, conducts inventory checks and ensures appropriate reaction to emanating issues
  • Ensures accurate and timely reporting

Minimum qualifications and required competencies

  • Degree in Logistics & Procurement Management, Warehousing or Diploma in Purchasing & Supply Management, or equivalent diploma qualification in a related field
  • 4 years work experience in a similar field of activity
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience in inventory planning and control techniques
  • Experience in medical stock management will be an asset
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Somali
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Ms Office suite ( especially Word and Excel) and
  • Knowledge of ICRC IT Tools will be an added advantage
  • Holder of a valid Driving license
  • Good knowledge of political, social and cultural affairs of the assigned region
