How can you make a difference?

 

  • Consolidate the soft copy of the revised guidelines and annexes to be submitted to UNICEF Supply section for mass printing through LTA modality
  • Consolidate the training kit and annexes to be submitted to UNICEF Supply section for mass printing through LTA modality
  • Support MoH to translate the English version of the guidelines, training kit and annexes into Somali
  • Support MoH to prepare and organize the launch of the IMAM guidelines by the Minister of Health and both representatives of UNICEF and WFP
  • Facilitate the training of trainers in Central South Regions, Puntland and Hargeisa
  • Prepare training activity reports for submission to MoH and UNICEF

 

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

 

  • An advanced university degree (Masters or higher) in nutrition, Public Health Nutrition, Home Economics, Human Nutrition- Food, Nutrition & Dietetics

 

 

  • A minimum of five (5) of relevant professional experience in nutrition, public health, related research or planning and management in relevant areas of maternal, infant and child nutrition, at the international level some of which preferably in a developing country;
  • Experience in developing guidelines for the management of severe acute malnutrition at country level;
  • Experience in conducting training of medical doctors for the management of SAM at country level;
  • Knowledge and experience with recent WHO recommendations on the management of SAM and evidence on the management of MAM;
  • Experience developing reports, case-studies and policy briefs, for a range of audiences including practitioners in the field and policy makers;
  • Knowledge of current or previous experience of working in Somalia on public health and nutrition programmes is an asset
  • Relevant experience in health/nutrition program/project development and management with UNICEF is an asset

 

 

  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
