World Vision is an International Relief and Development organization, whose goal is to achieve long-lasting benefits in the quality of life for vulnerable children and their families, displaced persons and communities. World Vision International Somaliland Program recognizes the importance of building local capacities to sustain this development process and as such one way to achieve this is by enhancing the skills of young fresh graduates.

To that end, WVI Somaliland Programme is desirous about creating a pool of young graduates with high skills in different areas. With that background, World Vision Somaliland Program wishes to invite applications from highly competent dynamic, self-driven and results oriented Somaliland Residents to be used for Roster staff at different locations in Somaliland. The roster staff will be placed in a database and called as the need arises. The staff under this roster should be able to report to duty within 48 hours. The positions are as follows:

1. Design, M&E and Quality Assurance

a. Brief description of the work

  • Participate in all the technical orientation and mentorship sessions organized by WVI or assigned partner(s)
  • Conduct household surveys from target beneficiaries (volume of work is based on assessment design)
  • Take part in Key informant interviews and focus group discussions as assigned by the assessment leader
  • Review survey documents in order to ensure accuracy of data
  • Ensure adherence to a laid down Code of Conduct for Enumerators & WVI child right policy
  • Complete all planned tasks in required time frame evidenced by submission of completed tasks to the supervisor/team leader.

b. Required Qualification

Bachelor Degree in:

  • a. Public Health
  • b. Nursing
  • c. Nutrition
  • d. Business Admin
  • e. Economics
  • f. Development Studies
  • g. Social Work
  • h. Agriculture/Livestock/Natural Resource Management
  • i. Or related field

 

2. Health and Nutrition:

a. Brief description of the work

 To cover for health & nutrition staff while awaiting recruitment or during short term emergency response projects. The person will supervise and support the implementation of health & nutrition activities including supervision of Health facilities and mobile teams, capacity building of MOH staff, compiling and submission of reports, distribution of drugs and medical supplies & supervision of community volunteers

b. Required Qualification

  • B.Sc. in nursing, public health or nutrition
  • IMAM, IYCF trainings.
  • Drug and commodity management training

3. WASH:

a. Brief description of the work

  • Distribution of WASH emergency supplies and water treatment sachets

b. Required Qualification

  • Diploma in Community Health or related field.
  • At least 1 year experience in similar jobs with NGOs

4. Food Security and Livelihood:

a. Required Qualification

  • Degree in agriculture, livestock, Natural Resources Management, Business Admin or related field.
  • At least 1 year experience in similar jobs with NGOs

REQUIRED SKILLS FOR ALL FIELDS:

  • Knowledge on the local environment and community dynamics
  • Ability to collect and gather information in an objective way
  • Actively listener who captures exact response from respondents.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and written in both Somali and English.
  • Basic understanding of applications on mobile technology and computers.
  • Ability to build rapport and good working relationships with peers and stakeholders
  • Confident and ability to make intelligent decisions

DESIRABLE QUALITIES:

  • Ability to speak read and write both Somali & English
  • Previous experience in data collection activities.
